Srinagar, Oct 27 (KNO): In alignment with the National Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week-2025, themed “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu & Kashmir, inaugurated and launched a week-long public as well as departmental outreach program on Monday, which was principally aimed at building consciousness and reiterating the obligation of everyone for perpetuation of integrity to realize greater goals of nurturing transparency, firming ethical governance, and consolidation of fight against corruption, across the Union Territory.
As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the events have been successfully launched across almost all districts of UT of Jammu & Kashmir, covering venues at Revenue Training Institute Jammu, DC office Samba, DC office Kathua, DC office Udhampur, DC office Ramban, PWD Dak Bunglow Rajouri, in Jammu Division and DC Office Kupwara, DC Office Bandipora, DAK Bungalow Baramulla, IMPA Srinagar, DC Office Ganderbal), DC Office Budgam, Circuit House Pulwama, Mini Secretariat Shopian, Mini Secretariat Kulgam, Dak Bungalow Anantnag, and Town Hall Awantipora,in Kashmir Division.
A documentary on ACB’s anti-corruption initiatives was also launched, showcasing ongoing efforts to promote integrity and accountability within government institutions and duly emphasizing the significance of a shared responsibility to eradicate corruption by building perception and recapping the obligation of everyone for preservation of integrity.
Under the constant directions and monitoring of Shri Shakti Kumar Pathak, IPS, Director ACB J&K, the day first event, at each district venues, featured conduction of sessions by ACB Branches, covering a pre scheduled program, organized in association with Revenue Department, which witnessed participation of both district administration, other government officials/functionaries and general public.
The respective ACB Branch SSPs while delivering their presentations emphasized the importance of shared responsibility of public participation in eradicating corruption and promoting transparency in governance. The main program and events at Srinagar were organized at Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPA), Srinagar and at Revenue Training Institute Jammu at Jammu.
An interactive Sessions and Public Engagement was especially conducted via mobile app platforms, to capture public/official response, while they actively responded to a set of questionnaires and share their feedback to critically identify the challenges in departments/public in assorted service delivery systems. The exercise was designed to gather real-time feedback and enhance transparency in administrative processes. Other vigilance awareness material like posters/pamphlets, and digitally linked resources were also distributed/shared with participants to sensitize employees and public about anti corruption reporting mechanism such as SatarkNagrik App and ACB Official Helpline.
The events at each district concluded with the Integrity Pledge Ceremony, which was administered by Senior District Administration Officials and ACB senior Officials, echoing participants/departments commitment to uphold ethical standards in public service delivery. The integrity pledge was also administered both at ACB Headquarters at Jammu Office and Srinagar Office.
ACB Officials encouraged participants and media representatives to continue supporting ACB’s vigilance initiatives and remain strongly committed to share their responsibility for promotion of culture of integrity and accountability throughout the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
